I was walking in union square yesterday and saw this man with a little typewriter station set up and a sign that said “a poem for you.” naturally, I stopped to see what his whole setup was about and to compliment him on his ~very nice~ typewriter.

he explained that he would write a poem for any passersby, according to their interests/desires/specified person in mind. I told him he could write one for me about anything on his mind, and he did. I gave him a donation for his words, time, and wonderful idea, and continued on my way.

this was such a neat little encounter, and I hope I see him again sometime soon.
